To improve the quality of life in the community
through volunteer service and fund development
Warm the Children
Warm The Children is a national program whose mission is to provide new warm winter clothing for children of needy families. Since 1997, Jackson Junior Welfare League, the Jackson Citizen Patriot and the Jackson Community Action Agency have partnered to bring this program to Jackson County. This program relies on local sponsors and donors as well as volunteer shoppers. JJWL is responsible for providing the volunteer shopping network. This program kicks off in the Fall. This year, sign up is the 2nd week in September and shopping starts the end of October. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer shopper, please email your name, address and phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Over 700 children were shopped for during the 2010 Warm the Children program and $56,893.10 was spent. In 2011, $82,446.97 was spent shopping for 1,025 children. In 2012, more than $45,000 in community donations resulted in 550 children shopped for.
JJWL is very proud to be a major partner in a campaign that has brought warm winter clothes to thousands of children and facilitated more than $900,000 of community donations and contributions and thousands of volunteer hours! We will continue to help grow and invest our resources!
